Art Adventures 2008
Join us for an exciting summer filled with art and creativity! Participants will be introduced to a variety of themes, and methods of art-making while using gallery exhibitions as inspiration.

Preschool Camps | 9–11 am | Ages 3-5

Wild and Wooly Animals | July 15-18
Beginning with an animal theme as inspiration, young artists will create their own imaginative animal masks, design paper mache animals, and get ‘creepy’ with foam-figured caterpillars.

Spectacular Superheroes | July 29- August 1
Design your own superhero cape, work on a mural of a fantastic cityscape and create sculptures of your favorite action figure. This class will be action-packed and simply spectacular!

Bug Buddies | August 5-8
During a week-long bug safari, preschoolers will learn to sculpt, paint, and draw their favorite insects. Little ones will create giant paper-mache bug sculptures, make mini-bug-stamps and draw textured insects. Preschool and kindergarten kids, make sure to ‘bug’ your mom and dad to sign you up for this super-fun class!

Traveling Tots | August 12-15
Preschoolers will travel the globe in this international art quest. No passports are required for this class, but a sense of adventure is!

Functional Fun | July 2-4
Transform furniture into funky works of art. Custom design a chair to match your room, refinish it top to bottom, and then try your hand at designing a bedside table to suit your space.  Bring your imagination along for these three days of distinctive design.

Dream Delights | July 14-18
Compose one-of-a-kind works of art inspired by fantasy worlds.  Get ready to meet wizards, dragons, monsters and more! 

Ancient Ruins | August 11-15
Tunnel your way through art history.  Explore age-old masks, hidden treasures and real, LIVE reptiles!

Mini Camps | 9 am–12 pm | Ages 8-12

Happenstance | July 7-11
Join us in the discovery of the unknown.  Try a variety of methods of art making, and explore what happens when you mix different materials together and allow your imagination to run wild!

Art & Grind | July 28-August 1
Design your own skateboard deck and spend a day mastering the skills!
This camp will include designing graphics, applying them to the decks, and a skateboarding lesson at the end of the week.

Art Scrabble | August 5-8
This mixed-media camp will allow you to try your hand at all different methods of creation.  Combine sculpture, painting, drawing and printmaking to find your true inner artist.

Hit the Town | July 21-25
Begin each day with an adventure in Kelowna ’s Cultural District.  Be inspired by local hot spots such as Waterfront Park , Kasugai Gardens and the Fintry Queen, and then return back to the gallery to make some fabulous keepsakes from your journeys around town.  

Outsiders Unite | August 18-22
Spend the week creating ‘non-traditional’ masterpieces.  In this camp you will discover the world of street art, create dynamic graphic posters, and design your own one-of-a-kind t-shirts. This camp is a great introduction to using different materials such as spray paint, and learning about the fine art of underground culture.
