Annual
Seeing
Red & White
Fundraiser
Saturday November 8, 2008
Thank you to all the
guests and volunteers for helping to make this evening of fine art, fine
wine, and fine cuisine so successful! Due
to the past popularity of Seeing
Red & White, this year we were able to stage a larger event in
our main gallery to accommodate 125 guests for the
Kelowna
Art
Gallery
’s premier fundraiser.
The Gallery is please to
announce that over $45,000 was raised in support of the innovative
exhibitions and public programming. Guests were entertained
by Tessitura
Trio and Amici Trio, and enjoyed a gourmet meal prepared by Chef
Derek Thompson of Divine Proportions, outstanding red and white wines
donated by Cedar Creek Estate Winery, Quails Gate Estate Winery, Mission
Hill Family Estate, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, and delicious beer donated
by Grolsh. Our emcee Jack Whyte kept guests informed and entertained
throughout the evening. Four local artists were on site, creating art work
that was then auctioned off by Mike Ritchie, from Ritchie Brothers
Auctioneers, at the end of the evening.
This year’s event was
co-sponsored by Dyck’s Medicine Centre and Grant Thornton, and once
again we had tremendous support from many other local artists and
businesses who donated items to our silent auction.
Thank you to our
committee members: Chair Joanne Onrait, Leona Baxter, Birgit Bennett, Shauna Herron, Dona
Moore, Shauna Oddleifson, and to Ruth Stewart, and to for all their help
creating such a great event. Thank you to Ruth Stewart for the fabulous décor
Special
thanks to all of the volunteers
and staff that helped out throughout the evening. |
