Young Architects Program
Young Architects
is an outreach program for students in grades 4 – 7. The Young Architects program involves two phases.  The first phase takes place in the classroom, here students are introduced to the basic principals of architecture through a short slide presentation.  The second phase of this program takes place at the Kelowna Art Gallery.  Students are introduced to our facility through a “behind the scenes” tour of the gallery.  Following the tour we gather in the gallery classroom for another hands-on activity where the students design the floor plans of their building. Scotia Bank Studio
Drop by the Scotia Bank Studio and try your hand at art! Every Wednesday through Sunday visitors’ are welcome to drop by the studio to create their own works of art. This informal studio setting changes with each new exhibition so there are always fresh new ideas and materials to explore.  The best part about the studio is that it’s free and open to everyone!

The Apple Bin Paint-In is an exciting community art project that takes place at the gallery each year.  This event is designed to offer families and individuals an opportunity to paint a single side of 25 large apple bins donated by B.C. Tree Fruits.  These bins are located throughout the gallery grounds.  Participants are given smocks, brushes and acrylic paint; everything needed to create their own personal and lasting impressions of the Okanagan.  Following the paint in, the bins will be left on display to complement Communities In Bloom in August.  The bins are then be picked up by B. C. Tree Fruits and sent out to orchards throughout the valley.  In other words, the art disappears into the landscape, to be enjoyed by both casual viewers on the valley highways and back roads or fruit pickers in the many Okanagan orchards.
