Part 1- SCHOOL CLASSROOM VISIT

This phase takes place in the school classroom. Our YOUNG ARCHITECTS Program Instructor will introduce the students to the basic principles of Architecture through a slide presentation. This lecture style presentation will include examples of both historical and contemporary Architecture and a discussion on the relationship between architecture and environment.

They'll see a variety of slides -historical to contemporary-
From the PYRAMIDS, to .... the PARTHENON, to..........
the Petronas Twin Towers....
and the Sydney Opera House.

Following the slide/lecture/discussion, the students are involved in a 3-dimensional HANDS-ON activity. Each individual creates an outline for the foundation - a footprint- of their building and then constructs their own scale model building out of cardboard. The students are encouraged to think of a function for their building and to create an environment for their building

NOTE:Extra classroom time is required after this visit ends to fully complete the building model.
